PDXBands.com Show #18 - May 2006, Part 2

Your dosage has been split in half...

PDXBands.com Show #18 - May 2006, Part 1

May's show, #18, comes in two parts and features...

Crack City Rockers open and close this episode with... "Yr Rotten Luck" from their last full-length, Joyce Hotel, and "Fuel" from the forthcoming The Good Life. I am ready to go on the record and say that these guys are one of Portland's most underrated bands.

44 Long with "Ever Find A Way?" from Hangover Heights Part 2, out now on In Music We Trust. Greil Marcus approved.

Zac Brown with "Budddha do Dada."

Quiet Countries with "Last Leaf on a Dead Tree." Catch Quiet Countries live Saturday, 05/06/06 at the Towne Lounge with Wow & Flutter and Simpl. Show starts @ 9:30 pm.

The Buttfrenchers with "Cigarette." Looks like their official website is not theirs anymore (PDXBands.com is not responsible for the mental scarring that may occur by clicking on links in this band's profile).

Canada's International Falls with "Ghouls 'n' Ghosts" from their new full-length THE PLATEAU out now, available for purchase (vinyl only) from their web site or at their shows, one of which will be here in Portland on Friday, May 12th at the Artistery.

Casey Dienel with "Doctor Monroe." Casey is on tour. Tons of dates here. In Portland at the Doug Fir on May 11th. Buy the record, Wind-Up Canary, at the Hush store.

Vanderslice-Watch: An article here about the song Sarah Shu from, yes, you caught me, Pixel Revolt. I can suppress my feelings no longer: I am lifting the lid that had been barely, nay, ineffectively, containing my unending love for this record and you now get Vanderslice-Watch, a time in the show when we will deal directly with something related to Pixel Revolt or John Vanderslice until the new record comes out, or until at least 50 of you email me a picture of yourself standing next to your copy of this amazing record. Playing this week, "Angela," from suddenly it all went dark: pixel revolt live to 2-track, recorded in Tom Waits' old chicken coup. Catch the tour.

The Murdocks with "Saddest Star." Have you picked up your copy of Surrenderender yet? It is the catchiest angery pop around and A-D-D-I-C-T-I-V-E as all get-out.
