An mp3 a day - The Hip Replacements
Funk Tuesday: The Hip Replacements - "Shake It"
...AND thanks to Alex for posting his best of 2005. I'm feeling lucky myself that I found at least 2 albums in 2005 that have entered my Best Albums Ever list. One was actually released in 2005, and I gushed endlessly about it already: John Vanderslice's Pixel Revolt ("I love you too"). The other is The Execution Of All Things by Rilo Kiley ("You loved things just because, like the sick and the dying"). That came out a couple years back and I am late to the party. An amazing record.

My Favorite Music of 2005
Hey, I haven't posted here in a while, so I thought that I would put up my favorite albums of 2005 for PDXBANDS fans to peruse. Here we go:
No. 1: Come on, Feel The Illinoise by Sufjan Stevens
"I fell in love with the place"
Tanglewood Numbers by The Silver Jews
"I loved ya to the max"
No Flashlight by Mt. Eerie
"Your love swells and pounds me"
Caracas by The Watery Graves
"Obviously there's no words on this but the whole album is filled with love anyhow."
Thanksgiving by Thanksgiving
"mostly it is entirely about love. love, adrian"
Carousel Waltz by The Robot Ate Me
"There is just one girl I love"
The Campfire Headphase by Boards of Canada
"I love you" (that lyric is from 1998's "Music Has The Right To Children")
Cathedral by Castanets
"I try to tell you I love you"
The Great Destroyer by Low
"Nothing to steal we've got nothing to love"
If You Were Born Overseas by Norfolk & Western
(got to listen to the album again and see if there is a lyric about "love" on there somewhere)
Gimme Fiction by Spoon
"I summon my love back to me"
All Kelp Monthlies by Karl Blau
Giraffes and Jackals 10" by Bobby Birdman
Superwolf by Matt Sweeney and Bonnie Prince Billy
